CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — Campbellsville committed six errors in a doubleheader split with Olivet Nazarene today at Veterans Memorial Park, winning 7-1 and losing 12-3
The Lady Tigers (4-4) got away with two errors in the 7-1 win, getting big games at the plate from Rebecca Miller, Markie Smith and Brianna Scott. But in the second game, four miscues led to three unearned runs, and Olivet (1-3) pounded out 16 hits.
GAME 1: Campbellsville 7, Olivet Nazarene 1Â
Miller, Smith and Scott accounted for six of CU's nine hits and seven of the runs.
Miller was 3-for-4 with two RBIs while Smith and Scott were 2-for-3 and 1-for-3, respectively, and a combined five RBIs.
Victoria Decker (1-3) pitched a three-hitter, walking four and striking out eight.
ONU's Ashley McKnight produced a leadoff single in the first inning and scored on Krista Shahan's two-out hit. But Decker would strand 10 Tigers the rest of the way en route to her first win of the season.
Campbellsville's four-run first inning was highlighted by Scott's three-run home run. The Lady Tigers scored solo runs in the second, third and sixth innings.
Madison Mudd and Destiney Taul had the other two hits for CU.
GAME 2: Olivet Nazarene 12, Campbellsville 3 -
Neely Quint (3-1) had a uncharacteristic outing, allowing 16 hits. Olivet Nazarene was able to take advantage of CU's poor fielding in running away with a 12-3 win.
The Lady Tigers could manage but six hits against Maggie Tidrow, who fanned five in seven innings of work.
Even with the poor showing at the plate, the Lady Tigers stranded 12 runners.
Rebecca Miller had another nice game at the plate, going 3-for-4 and an RBI. Three other players had one hit apiece — Brianna Scott, Adrean Jordan and Madison Mudd.
Olivet was led by the four-hit performance of Samantha Alberto. She and Megan Semro each had two RBIs.
The Lady Tigers go back on the road, Tuesday, March 1 when they travel to Kentucky Christian University for a noon doubleheader.
