INDEPENDENCE, Mo. —No. 8 Campbellsville surged in the second half to sidestep No. 7 The Master's in the NAIA National Tournament Round of 16 this morning, 62-55.

Campbellsville is headed to its third quarterfinal contest in the last three years. They will play Benedictine (Kan.), which upset No. 1 Our Lady of the Lake (Texas), 71-63, on Saturday, March 19 at 3 p.m. ET.

The Lady Tigers opened the second half on a 12-2 run after being down by seven going into halftime. CU shot 8-of-16 in the third quarter after The Master's allowed CU only 20.5 percent from the field (8-of-39) in the first half.

"Our team has so much heart and you don't count these kids out," said coach Ginger Colvin "Our bench is so into it and so into the scouting report, they are talking to the kids and they are helping and it's just a great team effort. I'm just so proud of them and so proud of what they have accomplished." 

The Master's ranks second in the country by keeping its opponents to only 33.9 percent form the field. That held true to its colors as CU finished the game 23-of-70, 32.9 percent.

To make up for the poor shooting percentage the Lady Tigers kicked up the defense, forcing the Mustangs into a season-high 23 turnovers. CU scored 17 points off The Master's 23 TO's.

Lindsey Burd recorded her 12^th double-double with 19 points and 16 rebounds. Burd scored 14 of her points in the second half, shooting 14 percent (2-of-14) from the floor in the first half. She also dished out five assists and three steals. Burd has scored 14-or-more points in 11 of the last 12 games.

At the 3:49 mark of the first quarter, Bianca Cubello, the Mustangs key leading scorer and rebounder, got her second foul and sat the rest of the quarter. The Lady Tigers held them scoreless for five minutes (4:02 in the first to 8:58 of the second) but CU was unable to make an impact.

The Master's went on a 10-2 run of their own at the end of the second as Chayan Lowery hits her foul shot off a one and one. The Lady Tigers went to the locker room down, 30-23.

The Lady Tigers start the third, with Burd scoring within the first 30 seconds. Emily Fox and Lexxus Graham followed suit, scoring the next six points from beyond the arc. The next 3-point basket came from LeeAnn Grider to regain the lead for the first time since the 5-minute mark of the second quarter, 35-32.

The Mustangs would go on to tie the game once more before the Lady Tigers locked down the lead and never looked back.

Fox and Graham each hit two 3s apiece — Fox tallying 15 points with the solo block and Graham with six points and three steals. Grider recorded nine points, while finding the open Lady Tigers with eight assists. Kristen Jacob grabbed seven rebounds and added four points.

The Mustangs doubled their average finishing the game with eight blocks as they are ranked fourth in total blocks (138) and blocks per game (4.6).

Lowery, who fouled out at 8:49 in the fourth quarter, recorded her 10^th double-double for the Mustangs with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Lowery was credited with over half of the blocks, ending with six. Megan Lindsley was the other Mustang to record double-digit scoring with 14 points.
