"Overall, the girls performed well and they continue to improve," said coach Lee Miracle. "Kayla was on another level when she was competing, she did not get scored on. I think it is a great start to the summer and can't wait to what is in store next."
Miracle, who was a 2014 Junior World bronze medalist — wrestling at 59 kg/121 lbs. She was also a member of the 2015 UWW Junior World team. At the 2016 Body Bar UWW Junior Nationals, Miracle went undefeated, and did not get scored on in her four warm-ups and two final matches.
"This weekend was a successful one, but it was only the first step in the whole scheme of things," said Kayla Miracle. "I have been so close to winning gold at Junior Worlds in the previous years and that is the ultimate goal for this season. First I needed to make the team, done. Now I need to improve on my areas of weakness and continue working to be better every day until I take the mat in France.
"I am looking to stay busy with wrestling this summer by attending camps, traveling internationally to compete and train, and also stay with some coaches to get individualized attention. All of that will help me with my journey to gold in France, and even Turkey for University Nationals shortly after."
