LONDON, Ky. — Playing as an individual in her first collegiate tournament, CU's
Laura McQueen fired a second-round 71, two under par, to move up the leader board 17 spots into fourth place overall.
Her teammates didn't fair as well.
Campbellsville was 11 shots worse on Day 2 of the Bill Sergent Invitational, played at Crooked Creek Golf Community, and the Lady Tigers lost their opening day lead to Cumberlands to drop into second place, five shots behind the Patriots.
The Lady Tigers had four golfers to place in the Top 7, led by sophomore
Kylie Withrow, who fired a second-round 78, and finished third overall.
Cassidy Scantland improved a shot on Day 2 to post 155 and a spot in the Top 5.
CU trailed by eight after 27 holes and could never recover enough to threaten Cumberlands.
The Patriots Kaitlyn Riley was five under for the tournament with rounds of 72-69 (141) beating Indiana Tech's Courtney Dye by nine shots for medalist honors.

Campbellsville players had a combined 15 birdies on Day 2, led by McQueen's four.
Ashley Goodin and
Kayla Rodgers had three apiece. Nine teams and 57 players competed in the two-day event.
McQueen had her round to four under par at one point today until bogeys at 16 and 17 turned a great round into a very good one.

The Lady Tigers will be back on the links Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 19/20 for the Mid-South Conference Fall Championship at Windtree Golf Course, Mt. Juliet, Tenn.
