Lady Tigers win-streak ends to No. 2 Lindsey Wilson

COLUMBIA, Ky. — A five-match win streak was broken tonight as Lady Tiger volleyball fell to No. 2 Lindsey Wilson in three sets, 21-25, 9-25, 22-25.
 
Campbellsville was led by Annija Abolina and Maria Coelho who had nine and six kills, respectively.
 
Set one went to the Blue Raiders (12-0, 3-0 MSC) who grabbed a quick lead with 11 kills and only four errors compared to Campbellsville's 14 kills and seven errors. Campbellsville attempted victory with a 6-0 run to tie the match at 17, but errors toward the end spelled a 25-21 loss.
 
During the second set, the Lady Tigers struggled, recording a .088 hitting percentage and falling victim to a 14-1 run made by the Blue Raiders to finish the set, 25-9.
 
Campbellsville (10-4, 3-1 MSC)attempted to turn the very entertaing match around with a 5-0 run in the third set to claim the lead at 17-16. The Blue Raiders quickly counterattacked, coming back to win by a score of 25-22.
 
Inoa Fields had 20 of the Tiger's 26 assists, while Lindsey's Makenzie Montano assisted 40 of the Blue Raider's 48 kills.
 
On the defensive end, Fields led Campbellsville with 16 digs, followed by Jessie Pendleton who had 11.
 
Lindsey Wilson is currently ranked No. 2 in the NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll. The Blue Raiders were led by Eileen Acuna claiming a double-double with 14 kills and 12 digs.
                               
Lady Tiger volleyball will travel to Bourbonnais, Ill. for the Olivet Nazarene Tournament on Friday/Saturday, Sept. 16-17. First serve for Campbellsville is scheduled for Friday at 4 p.m. against Cardinal Stritch University.
