CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. —
Andrew Lissik finished runner-up, while
Ryan Bremer and Jon Henderson placed 10
th and 11
th, respectively, to lead Campbellsville men's bowling to a second place finish at the Green River Classic.
Lissik, a junior from Columbia, Md., finished in second place behind Belmont Abbey College's Kennon McFalls. McFalls bowled games of 245-246 in the first and third rounds, respectively, to run away with the title with 1,101 pins.
Lissik bowled every game but one in the 200's. His tournament-high came in the fourth game, knocking down 236 pins and finished with 1,057.
Bremer, a former Mid-South Conference singles champion, rounded out the Top 10 with 975 pins this weekend. After an opening round 157, Bremer rallied for a 244 and 221 to get right back in the thick on the standings but the final two games of 176-177 (975) kept him from the century mark of 1,000 pins.
Henderson was right behind Bremer with 968 pins. Like his teammate in 10
th place, Henderson started slow but started his rally in the second round bowling, 173-230-185-191-189.
Devon Gunderson and freshman
McKinley Knopp rounded out the Tigers in the Top 20. Gunderson placed 14
th with a total of 936, while Knopp placed 16
th with 924 pins.
In the team tournament, Spring Hill College out-paced the host Tigers. Spring Hall finished their team games with 4,944 pins but fell off the pace with 2,334 Baker Game pins. That allowed Campbellsville to cut into the deficit with some high-numbered Baker Games of 222, 240, 208 and 216 in the fifth, seventh, eighth, and 11
th, respectively.
