COVINGTON, Ga. — A pair of program records fell today at the SCAD Atlanta Fall Invitational. Cassidy Scantland fired a career-low four-under 68 to lead the Lady Tigers to their team record of 291 to sit in a tie for second place.
 
Campbellsville is tied with Dalton State College, while host SCAD Atlanta fired a team score of 285 and is first after Round 1.
 
Scantland saved the best round of her Lady Tiger career to open her senior campaign, firing a four-under 68 – one shy of her all-time low as a golfer. The new program record is two strokes better than the previous one, also set by Scantland at the Cumberland Phoenix Invitational in 2015 (70). She sits in a tie with Courtney Lowery from Point University and Rachita Vasandani from SCAD for first place.
 
In addition, sophomore Kylie Withrow finished with a career-low as well, two-under 70, to sit in a tie for fifth place with Caroline Griffin from Dalton State.
 
"I thought today was a good way to open the season firing out a new record score," said coach Kim Goodin. "The ladies are as focused and eager as I've ever seen them. Even with the score we had, there was some frustration. Cassidy (Scantland) and Kylie (Withrow) both had a solid round today being under par and that truly reflects their talent but I'm proud of all of them. They've worked hard and it's paying off."
 
Anna-Marie Hyatt also had a solid score to open her senior campaign, firing a four-over, 76 (T17). Fellow senior Ashley Goodin came out with a 78 (T22) and Michaela Jarman rounded out the Top 5 with a 78 (T28).
 
Faulkner University shot a 10-over 294 as a team to sit in fourth, while Brenau University (304), Lindsey Wilson College (308), Point University (308) and Union College (314) were close behind. Reinhardt University rounded out the nine-team tournament with a 344 team score.
