COVINGTON, Ga. — After setting program records yesterday in Round 1 of the SCAD-Atlanta Invitational, No. 17 Lady Tiger golf took a small step back but still finished with a solid showing in their first tournament of the year, placing third.
Host SCAD-Atlanta (285-287) won the team title, while Dalton State (291-287) shot a 287 today to leap Campbellsville for second place. The Lady Tigers dropped seven strokes from Tuesday's first round to finish at 21 over par (291-298).
Cassidy Scantland, who was tied for first after round one with a three-under 68, came back with an even-par 71 on Wednesday. But Point University's Courtney Lowery went 69-69 to outpace Scantland and SCAD's Rachita Vasandani (68-70) by one stroke for medalist honors.
Faulkner University's Hannah Seger (69-71) and Dalton State's Caroline Griffin (70-71) rounded out the Top 5.
After firing a career-low 70 in round one, sophomore
Kylie Withrow hit a few bumps on Wednesday and fell off the pace shooting nine over, 80, to finish tied for 14
th.

Anna-Marie Hyatt improved one spot on the leaderboard, firing 76-75 to finish tied for 16
th with teammate
Michaela Jarman. After an opening round 78, Jarman made the biggest improvement for CU by jumping 12 spots on the leaderboard with a second-round 73.

Ashley Goodin rounded out the Lady Tigers, firing 77-79 to finish tied for 23
rd.
Campbellsville was the only team to have all five golfers finish in the Top 23. SCAD had an individual finish 28
th and Dalton State had a competitor finish tied for 29
th.
SCAD, Dalton State and Campbellsville were the only teams to score in the 200s for both rounds, as Faulkner University went 294-302 to place fourth. Point University (308-305) jumped Lindsey Wilson for fifth place, while the Blue Raiders (308-307) missed the Top 5 by two strokes. Brenau University (304-316) was seventh, Union College (314-357) finished eighth and Reinhardt University (344-352) placed ninth.
Campbellsville will now have a week to prepare for the Bill Sergent Invitational hosted by University of the Cumberlands at Crooked Creek Country Club in London, Ky., Sept. 12-13.
