PIKEVILLE, Ky. — Campbellsville used the 26 combined second-half points by
Jordan Doram (12) and
Emily Fox (14) to flip a two-point halftime deficit and pin a 74-67 loss on No. 23 University of Pikeville today at the East Kentucky Expo Center.
The seventh-ranked Lady Tigers (15-2, 2-1 MSC) were really good from the free throw (22-of-26) and hit 10 3-point shots to shoot 42 percent for the game.
Madison Clements and
Emily Fox led four Lady Tigers in double figures with 18 apiece. Doram added 16 and
Abby Miller had 10 points and a game-high nine rebounds.
The Lady Tigers led Pikeville 41-25 on the boards. Doram had seven and Fox five.
After trailing the majority of the first half, Madison Clement scored six straight points to cap a 9-2 run and Campbellsville tied the game at 31-31 with 2:66 remaining in the first half.
That was short-lived, however as Elisabeth Latham laid in a bucket at the buzzer for UPIKE's 33-31 lead at intermission.
The Bears (12-5, 2-2 MSC) had 11 players in the scoring column in the first half and out-shot CU 43 percent to 41.
CU went on an 8-3 run out of the intermission break to lead 39-36. Pikeville would never get any closer than one point (50-49). Doram accepted two consecutive passes from Clements to score the final two points of the third quarter and the first two of the fourth.
Clements led all players with four assists. Devin Conley and Emily Baker led UPIKE with 12 points apiece.
The Lady Tigers stay on the road and in conference for a 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9 game in Williamsburg, Ky. against the University of the Cumberlands.
