CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Campbellsville's women's swimming team dropped its second dual meet of the season to Asbury University, 161-41, on Friday night in the Powell Athletic Center Pool.
The Lady Tigers are now 1-2 on the year in head-to-head competition.
To start the meet,
Faith Hyde,
Gabrielle Velez,
Brooklynn Friel and
Lauren Sears finished third in the 400-yard medley relay with a time of 5:06.13, which hit the national A standard.
Chelsie VanWhy,
Jen Lewis,
Katy Lewis and
Mikayla Runner were in fourth after completing the race in 5:20.81.
Campbellsville had three individuals touch the wall just over 20 seconds apart in the 1,500-meter freestyle. Hyde finished third with a 21:27.40, followed by
Kate Bouldin in fourth after completing the race in 21:39.42.
Jen Lewis rounded out the Campbellsville competitors with a time of 21:49.22 in the event.
Olivia Schneider finished third in the 200-meter freestyle, followed by Runner in fourth with times of 2:33.03 and 2:33.18, respectively. VanWhy capped off the Lady Tigers in the race after posting a time of 2:37.56, which was sixth in the field.
Sears recorded Campbellsville's lone runner-up finish on Friday in the 50-meter freestyle. She posted a time of 30.19 and was less than a second off of the winning time.
Katie Miller (32.80) finished fifth,
Lindsey Buckman (32.80) was sixth and
Autumn Turner (36.72) rounded out the field in seventh.
In the 200-meter individual medley,
Lexie Upton posted a fourth-place time of 2:54.87 and
Jen Lewis was fifth in the field after finishing is just over three minute with a 3:00.66.
Friel led a trio of Lady Tigers in the 100-meter butterfly with a 1:12.08 and placed third overall.
Katy Lewis finished fifth, while Buckman recorded a sixth-place finish with marks of 1:17.37 and 1:23.10.
Kennedy Ludwig finished third in her lone individual event of the meet with a 1:09.81 in the 100-meter freestyle. Campbellsville then had the final four finishers in field with Runner (1:11.22) placing fifth, followed by VanWhy (1:12.47),
Morgan Bryant (1:13.93) and Turner (1:22.13).
Hyde was the lone Lady Tiger to compete in the 100-meter backstroke, where she was third overall in the field loaded with Asbury competitors. She recorded a time of 1:19.79.
The final freestyle event of the night saw Schneider grab a third-place finish in the 400-meter freestyle after finishing the race in 5:25.08. Bouldin was just behind in fourth after touching the wall in 5:30.05 and
Katy Lewis finished sixth with a mark of 5:48.56.
Action came to a close with three Campbellsville individuals competing in the 100-meter breaststroke. Velez led the Lady Tigers with a 1:25.57 to finish third and she was just three seconds away from hitting a national bonus cut. Bryant finished in 1:32.60 to placed fifth, while Miller was sixth with a time of 1:34.81.
Campbellsville now hosts its Dance Maroon event on Saturday night at 6 p.m. ET. The Lady Tigers return to the pool next Saturday for a tri-dual against Lindsey Wilson College and Union College in Barbourville, Ky.
