CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — Tiger soccer ended Homecoming 2017 in style tonight by dominating Oakland City University in their final home game of the season, 10-0.
Ignacio Mangada delivered a hat trick, while
Lucas Batistela scored twice to lead No. 14 Campbellsville (12-2-1).
Haylen West was able to put up impressive numbers with a career-high three assists.
The Tigers dominated the pitch overall with 32 shots and 20 of those on goal. Oakland City finished with only four total shots and did not record any on goal.
It didn't take long for Mangada to get the scoring started scoring in the 11
th and 17
th minutes.
Nathan Heath headed in the third goal in the 27
th minute off a corner by Callaghan for the Tigers to take a 3-0 halftime lead.
In the second half, the Tigers went ahead 5-0 in only 1:48 of play. Callaghan scored 18 seconds into the half, while West delivered a goal in the 47
th minute.
Mangada then capped his hat trick in the 59
th after West delivered a beautiful cross into the box.
Batistela got in on the action in the 61
st with his loan goal and Campbellsville later went ahead 9-0 with an Oakland City own-goal in the 69
th.
Alvaro Merino finished the night for CU with his first-career score in the 81
st to put CU ahead 10-0.
Campbellsville will now await its fate in the Mid-South Conference Tournament as the seeds will be announced on Sunday, Oct. 29. The MSC Tournament has been moved to Warren Central High School in Bowling Green, Ky.
