Lady Tiger basketball returns to Powell Athletic Center to host Hiwassee College on Saturday

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — For just the fourth time in the fall semester, Lady Tiger basketball returns to the Powell Athletic Center for a home game after taking a week off due to final exams. CU is looking to end the semester strong as Hiwassee College travels to Tiger Town for just the fourth matchup between the two programs in history.

Tip off between the Tigers is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 16 at 2 p.m. ET.

Matt Payton, who is in his first year as Voice of Tiger and Lady Tiger basketball, will have the radio call on 88.7 The Tiger and WLCUFM.com starting at 1:45 p.m. Fans can also tune into the CU Sports Network for video streaming.

CU owns a 3-0 record over the Tigers and defeated Hiwassee last season in the McKenzie, Tenn. Chamber Classic, 88-50. The Lady Tigers are also seeking to improve to 11-1 overall for the
first time since 2014-15 and just the third time in Ginger Colvin's tenure.

Lady Tigers' last time out:
Campbellsville enters the weekend after a not playing for 10 days due to final exams. The Lady Tigers were last on the court on Tuesday, Dec. 5 as they ran away from Talladega College, 80-62.

Madison Clements scored 13 points to pace CU, while Jordan Doram and Lauren Turner both pitched in 12 and Lexxus Graham scored 11.

Madison Faulkner provides a spark:
Sophomore Madison Faulkner has showed out multiple times in her young career but none better than her 11 points on the road at Talladega last week. Faulkner scored nine of the final 15 points for CU to seal the 80-62 win. She also grabbed a season-high six rebounds vs. the Tornadoes and pitched in a season-high 14 points vs. Simmons College on Nov. 28.

Fast start is important:
In the 11 games this season, the Lady Tigers have led at the halftime intermission in 10
- winning all of those contests. The lowest- scoring output in the first half came vs. Freed- Hardeman, when the Lady Tigers scored 22 points. CU and the Lady Lions were tied at the half, 22-all, and that's the lone loss for Campbellsville this year.

Last game vs. Hiwassee:
Coach Ginger Colvin was able to play every player on her bench, as all but one scored
a point in Campbellsville's 88-50 win over Hiwassee College in last years Chamber Classic at Bethel University.

Out of Campbellsville's 28 made buckets, 19 of those were assisted. Behind Grider's seven, Emily Fox had three and Lauren Turner, Madison Clements, Abby Miller and Madison Kaiser all registered two assists. Caitlin Hall rounded out the Lady Tigers with one dime.

With all 14 players playing, Campbellsville scored 39 bench points with 36 points coming inside the paint. The Lady Tigers also forced a season-high 31 turnovers and scored 30 points off those Hiwassee miscues. CU finished the Chamber Classic by forcing 60 turnovers in two games.

CU heads to Hawaii Classic on Dec. 17
The Lady Tigers are heading to the Hawaii Classic just before the Christmas holiday season starts. CU is scheduled to play on Dec. 20 vs. Menlo College at 3 p.m. ET and on Dec. 21 vs. No. 5 Wayland Baptist at 3 p.m. ET.

Menlo College carries a 9-0 record into this week and is ranked No. 1 in the NAIA in field goal percentage (50.4%), No. 3 by scoring 86.1 points per game, and No. 4 by hitting 41.7% from the 3-point line.

Wayland Baptist boasts a 6-0 record entering this week and is one of the best 3-point shooting teams in the country by hitting 10 triples per game. WBU also hits the offensive glass by earning 18.5 offensive boards per game.

What CU has on its side.... it's defense. The Lady Tigers use their twilight defense to earn 18.3 steals per game and 202 steals overall - both No. 1 in the NAIA.
