No. 20 Tigers win eight of the nine matches to take down Bellarmine

Box Score LOUISVILLE, Ky. — After an exhibition against Eastern Kentucky University last week, Tiger Tennis stayed on the road with another match against an NCAA opponent. No. 20 Campbellsville took down Bellarmine University on Friday night, 8-1.

The Tigers (2-0) swept all three doubles matches and won all but one of the singles matches.

In No. 1 doubles, Chrys Castro and Alejandro Reyes got the Tigers going with an 8-6 victory over Jose Lagaretta and Zach Kud. Then it was Brendan Aguilar and Victor Alhbeck winning 8-3 over Alex Swords and Matt Momper. Campbellsville took a 3-0 dual lead after No. 3 doubles duo of Adrian Sabrojo and Zach Baulch defeated Lauren de Boeck and LJ Allara, 8-5.
 
In singles matches, the only win for the Knights came at No. 2 singles. Kud took down Reyes, 6-2, 6-1.
 
Aguilar got the best of Lagaretta, 6-2, 6-3 and Castro defeated Swords, 6-1, 6-1.

In Nos. 4, 5, 6 singles all went to CU as well. Alhbeck won 6-2, 6-1, while newcomer Mario Belloni won 6-1, 6-2. In the finale, Alex Spalding defeated Andrew Jones, 7-5, 6-0.
 
Campbellsville will host Brescia on Saturday, Feb. 25 at the Kelly Hall Tennis Complex starting at 2 p.m. ET.
