ADRIAN, Mich. — For the third time this season, Campbellsville men's volleyball falls to Siena Heights on Saturday morning in straight-sets, 25-20, 25-14, 25-21.
A trio of Tigers finished with double figure kills, while
Adam Conklin lead the way with 11. He was followed by
Rafael Cruz and
Bryce Johnson who recorded 10.
Campbellsville struggled from the floor hitting just .165 compared to .396 for Siena Heights. The Saints didn't have anyone with double-digit kills but nine of the 10 players finished with at least one.
The Tigers did not have an answer for the Saints, as Siena Heights' hitting percentage improved every set — .405, .423, .455.
In the first, Campbellsville tied it at five with a Conklin kill but the Saints answered right back and never trailed the rest of the way.
The second set was exactly like the first in terms of runs but Campbellsville could not overcome just seven kills and a hitting percentage of .000. Tied at five, the Saints took a 6-5 lead and never gave it up. CU trailed 11-9 but Siena Heights ended the set on a 14-5 run, winning 25-14.
In the third set, CU cut the lead to two, 19-17, but the Saints scored two-straight forcing a timeout. After the timeout, both teams scored four points but Campbellsville ran out of time late.
Hunter Monday led CU with 24 assists, while
Keaton Marshall pitched in nine. Keegan Crawford led Siena Heights with 40 dimes.
Campbellsville will now have almost a week off before hosting Bluefield College on Friday, Feb. 17. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET in the Powell Athletic Center. Live video and stats will be provided.
