Embry, Russell and Lewis MSC champions, Tigers finish second overall

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Clayton Embry, Brayden Russell and Tyler Lewis each brought home Mid-South Conference Championship titles after the inaugural indoor track and field event on Saturday, as the Tigers placed second overall.
 
Embry placed first in the weight throw with an attempt of 14.36 meters, earning 10 points for the Tigers; Russell leaped 1.96 meters in the high jump for 10 more points and the championship; and Lewis ran the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 8.30 seconds, also earning an NAIA "B" standard.
 
Following in the high jump, Nick Mabe and Paxton Wiley finished second and third, respectively. Mabe jumped 1.91 meters for eight points and Wiley jumped 1.81 meters for six points.
 
Wiley went on to place fourth in the high jump with a leap of 6.83 meters, earning five points for the Tigers. Rounding out the field events for Campbellsville were Tyler Lewis and Russell in the triple jump. Lewis made a distance of 13.49 meters for second and Russell jumped 12.84 meters for third.
 
In the running events, Wiley earned eight individual points with a second place finish in the 60-meter hurdles. He completed the event in 8.47 seconds.
 
Adam Sandidge stood out for the Tigers with two Top-Five individual finishes. He finished the 3000-meter run in third in a time of 9:06.55 and completed the one mile run 4:27.51 for third place.
 
Corbin Harris wrote his name in the record book for the 1000-meter run, finishing the race in 2:42.66 for fourth place and four points.
 
Brandon Battle, Jordan Thomas, Jaron Jackson and Johannesburg Boulware teamed up to run the 4x400-meter relay in 3:32.34, good enough for second place and a new school record. Harris, Bret Crawford, Camryn Snapp and Chris Stoeckel finished third in the 4x800-meter relay in a time of 8:14.56 for third place and another school record.
 
Rounding out the running events for Campbellsville were Thomas in the 400-meter run in a time of 52.23 seconds (4th); Boulware in the 600-meter run in a time of 1:26.67 (4th); and Crawford in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:03.08 (4th).
 
Others scoring for the Tigers were Michael Hunt in weight throw with a throw od 12.45 meters (6th); Bradford Evans in long jump with a leap of 5.83 meters (6th); Michael Hunt in shot put with a throw of 10.91 meters (8th); Battle in the 200-meter dash in 22.81 seconds (5th); and Kelvin Fields in the 200-meter dash in 23.21 seconds (6th).
