ST. AUGUSTIN, Fla. — Lady Tiger golf shot a score of 327 and had five of the six individuals to shoot in the 80s to sit in fourth place at the Georgetown College Invitational at The Slammer & The Squire.
Playing just 100 yards from the World Golf Hall of Fame and the featured PGA Tour course, TPC Sawgrass, the Lady Tigers were unable to match their performance with defending national winner Kaiser University – which shot a 291. The Skyhawks have all five golfers in the Top 10, led by Sabrina Schloo's opening round of 71.
She was followed by teammates Elsa Westin and Heloise Garcin with 73s. Rounding out the Top 5 is three golfers who are tied for fourth with 74s – Rebecka Holmstrom (Kaiser), Tioa Teiniketo (Dalton State) and Hanna Gasaway (Dalton State).
Kayla Rodgers, who is playing in her first career tournament, led Campbellsville's efforts with a six-over 78 and sits in a tie for 12
th place after the opening round.
She is followed with a 10-over 82 by
Kylie Withrow to sit in a tie for 20
th and
Anna-Marie Hyatt is tied for 24
th with an opening round 83.
Michaela Jarman and
Ashley Goodin, who is playing as an individual, both carded 84s.
Sarah Dickens rounds out the Lady Tigers with an 18-over 90.
Dalton State sits in second place in the team standings with a score of 304, while SCAD-Atlanta is one stroke in front of Campbellsville at 326.
The second and final round of the Georgetown College Invitational concludes on Tuesday at The Slammer & The Squire.
