Lady Tigers send seniors out with 103-65 rout over Life University on Senior Day

CAMPBELLSVLLE, Ky. — The Lady Tigers shot 53 percent from the floor on Senior Day and every player was able to score in a 103-65 rout of Life University on Saturday afternoon.

A Senior Day where every player that was dressed scored a basket, the most fitting of them all came when LeeAnn Grider hit a layup and free throw to score her 700th career point.

All five seniors – Grider, Emily Fox, Abby Miller, Alexis Pester and Queralt Coll Pradas – were recognized before the game and all five scored a combined 27 points. Emily Fox led the Lady Tiger seniors with 11 points, followed by Pradas with eight, Grider and Pester had three, while Miller scored one.

Grider scored the Lady Tigers' first basket and with a few minutes left in the second quarter, Life University coach Anthony Maxwell picked up a technical foul allowing coach Ginger Colvin to check Grider into the lineup for the free throws. In addition to her 700 points, she finished her career with 571 assists to sit in third place in CU history.

With the victory, it sealed Abby Miller and LeeAnn Grider as the winningest four-year players in Lady Tiger history with 117 wins.

Grider tied the game at two-all and then Pester drilled a 3-pointer to put the Lady Tigers ahead, 5-2. CU never trailed from that point and every senior scored but Fox in the first quarter. Fox found her stroke the rest of the way and nailed a pair of 3-pointers with just above seven minutes left in the third quarter to put CU up 60-31.

Campbellsville forced 24 turnovers and scored 33 points off those miscues. The Lady Tigers also dominated the paint by outscoring Life 46 to 18. The Running Eagles also had three players on their bench today and Campbellsville's nine subs outscored Life, 76-28.

Madison Stewart led Campbellsville by hitting all seven field goals and three free throws to tie a season-high 17 points. Cristin Hall also scored a career-high nine points by hitting three 3-point baskets. Twin sister Caitlin Hall also recorded a career-high seven assists – three of those went to sister Cristin.

The Lady Tigers will now await their fate as the rest of the Mid-South Conference schedule is finishing today. CU has sealed a three-seed in the tournament and with a University of Pikeville win today over University of the Cumberlands, the Lady Tigers will play the Patriots in the opening round. More information will be posted on Sunday.
