ATHENS, Tenn. — Fourth-ranked Tennessee Wesleyan used three-run, four-run and eight-run innings to run-rule the 14
th-ranked Tigers on Sunday afternoon, 16-3.
Campbellsville (8-5) finished its Tennessee road swing this weekend with a 1-3 record after defeating the Bulldogs on Friday but lost three straight to Bryan College and Tennessee Wesleyan (9-7).
The Bulldogs smacked around 13 hits, while Campbellsville could only muster six.
The middle of the order did the damage for Tennessee Wesleyan, as Collin Ridout, Dan Ward and former Tiger
Cody Erickson combined to go 9-for-12 with seven runs scored and nine RBI. Ridout led the way in the eight-run sixth inning by coming to the plate twice and hitting his sixth and seventh home runs of the year.
Diego Reynoso and
Brett Hamilton led Campbellsville's effort at the plate by collecting two hits. Started
DJ Wilson lasted only eight innings – the third time this weekend a CU starter didn't work into the fourth inning. He allowed five hits and four earned runs before
Nick Johnston started the fourth and did not record an out, allowing four runs on three hits and two walks.

Clayton Carrico and
Kirby Broadbent all saw time on the bump and combined to walk nine batters, while striking out four.
The Bulldogs took a 3-0 advantage in the first and Campbellsville cut into that lead with a pair of runs in the third.
Clay Valenzuela-Reece picked up a two-out two-RBI single.
Both teams traded runs in the bottom of the third and top of the fourth, but the Bulldogs gained all the momentum with a four-run fourth inning.
In the eighth inning, Ridout led off the inning with a home run and capped it off with a two-out long ball, as 11 total Bulldogs came to the plate.
The Tigers fell victim to three errors today as well.
Campbellsville will now host Brescia University on Wednesday, March 1. The doubleheader is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. ET at HIG Field.
