KINGSPORT, Tenn. – Lady Tiger swimming continued to tack on season best times and break NAIA standards as the Mid-South Conference Championships concluded tonight at the Kingsport Aquatic Center.
Over the course of three days, Campbellsville collected a total of 246 points to place fourth of seven teams in the championship.
Freshman
Sara Beth Howard upgraded her NAIA "B" standard to an "A" in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 55.86 seconds. She finished in seventh place, good enough for seven points.
Placing fourth in the 200-yard backstroke,
Lauren Dalton totaled 11 individual points for Campbellsville. She swam the event in 2:12.19.
In the 200-yard butterfly, sophomores
Katy Lewis and
Lindsey Buckman partnered to gather 19 more points. K. Lewis finished fifth in 2:29.23 and Buckman finished sixth in a season-best time of 2:43.74.
The 200-yard breaststroke brought 11 points Campbellsville's way with
Jen Lewis,
Katie Miller and
Morgan Bryant's season-best times. J. Lewis finished eighth in 2:45.79, Miller finished ninth in 2:48.02, and Bryant placed 11
th in 2:51.98.
Mikayla Runner joined Howard, J. Lewis, and Dalton in the 400-yard freestyle relay to swim a season-best time of 3:53.68. The team scored 22 points in the event and took fourth place.
Rounding out the scoring for the Lady Tigers,
Jessica Cook grabbed five points between the 1650-yard freestyle and the 100-yard freestyle. She swam a 20:48.00 in the 1650 for ninth place and four points and a 59.12 in the 100 for 12
th place and one point.
Faith Hyde placed eighth in the 1650-yard freestyle with a season-best time of 20:41.05 for five points and
Kate Bouldin placed 12
th in the event with a season best time of 21:45.86 and one point.
