CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — The Tigers picked up their fourth 3-0 win of the season tonight, setting down Bryan College, 25-13, 25-23, 25-18.
The win improves CU to 7-14 overall and 5-1 in the Mid-South Conference. Bryan slipped to 0-6 overall and 0-2 in the MSC.
The Tigers had little trouble in the first set, running off to a 12-3 lead and closing out the Lions with an
Adam Conklin kill at 25-13.
In the second set, the Lions breathed a little life in their game. After trailing 18-11, Bryan closed to within 24-23 before
Rafael Cruz punctuated a 25-23 set win with a kill.
Then in the third, Campbellsville broke away from a 7-5 lead and led 20-13 before Bryan made a match of it by creeping to within 23-18.
Conklin and Cruz led CU to a 40-24 advantage in kills with 12 and 11 apiece, respectively.
Philip Turia and
Hunter Monday each reached double figures in assists with 21 and 11, respectively.
Noel Camello led the team with nine digs.
The Tigers will host another conference opponent Friday, March 3 at 7:00 when Warner University comes to the Powell Athletic Center.
