LONDON, Ky. — After not playing for over a month in a tournament, Lady Tiger golf is sitting in fourth place at the Mid-South Conference Spring Tournament at Crooked Creek Golf Club.
The Lady Tigers shot a 333 in the first round to sit in fourth place behind host University of the Cumberlands and Cumberland University in first (319). Lindsey Wilson College sits in third at 324.
Individually,
Cassidy Scantland and
Anna-Marie Hyatt are the lone Lady Tigers sitting in the Top 10. Scantland, playing in her first tournament since the NCCAA Championship in October, fired an eight-over 79 to sit in a tie for sixth place. Hyatt shot 11-over and is tied for 10
th.
Michaela Jarman is right behind Hyatt with a 12-over 84, tying for 13
th.
Kylie Withrow and
Ashley Goodin round out the Lady Tigers with 15-over 87s.
Campbellsville also had a pair of individuals playing in the tournament. Freshman
Kayla Rodgers shot an opening round 88 and is tied for 22
nd.
Sarah Dickens was scheduled to compete as an individual but was under the weather for round one.
Cumberland University's Savanna Strode leads the individual standings with a first round 74. She is followed by reigning NAIA champion Kaitlyn Riley (76) and Candice Lindeque (77) for second and third, respectively. Lindsey Wilson's Courtney Vincent and Cumberland's Raquel Romero are tied for fourth, rounding out the Top 5.
After fourth place, the teams fall off the pace. University of Pikeville (373), Union College (377), Georgetown College (380), and Shawnee State (471) round out the team scores.
