CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — For the second-consecutive tournament,
Cassidy Scantland and Lady Tiger golf are coming home from a tournament as champions. Campbellsville out-lasted Bellarmine University by 16 strokes and Scantland won by three at the CU Invitational at Rosewood Golf Club.
The Lady Tigers shot 319-320 to beat Bellarmine (2), Madonna University (3) and Brescia University (4). CU also won the William Penn Invitational two weeks ago at TPC Deere Run.
Scantland didn't have her best round but still proved as one of the best in the country, winning her program-best 14
th-career tournament by shooting 75-77.
Fellow senior
Ashley Goodin joined Scantland on the All-Tournament team by finishing in sixth place with 78-80.
Anna-Marie Hyatt was right behind Goodin by two strokes with matching 80s to round out CU in the Top 10 for seventh place.
Sophomore's
Kylie Withrow and
Michaela Jarman finished 13
th and tied for 15
th, respectively. Both improved in their second round, as Withrow improved three strokes today with 86-83 and Jarman went 89-85.
The Lady Tigers also had three individuals competing –
Sarah Dickens (84-88, 14
th),
Kayla Rodgers (91-87, 19
th) and
Olivia Parrott (100-94, 24
th).
Campbellsville will now have 13 days to prepare for the Mid-South Conference Championship scheduled for April 24-26 at Bowling Green Country Club.
