DANVILLE, KY. – Tiger track and field led the competition at Centre Twilight with five first-place finishes, seven NCCAA standards and one NAIA "B" cut, claiming first place with 129 points.
Claiming one of the titles, junior
Adam Sandidge ran the 5000-meter run in 14:51.65, breaking the school record and earning a NAIA "B" standard for the NAIA Championship.
Brayden Russell earned first place in the high jump, clearing 1.97 meters to break the school record and
Brandon Battle placed first in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.71 for the Twilight meet record.
Breaking both the school and meet records, relay team of
Paxton Wiley,
Jaron Jackson,
Jordan Thomas and Battle ran the 4x100-meter relay in a time of 42.04 for the win.
In the 110-meter high hurdles, Wiley grabbed the last victory for the Tigers with a time of 14.97.
Seven more Tigers punched their tickets to the NCCAA Championship. Kelvin Fields earned a spot in two events: the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.13 and the 200-meter dash in a time of 22.72.
Corbin Harris found his way with a 44.83-meter attempt in javelin for third; Jalen Coates with a time of 11.21 in the 100-meter dash;
Bret Crawford with a time of 1:56.47 in the 800-meter run (school record);
Tyler Lewis with a time of 57.83 in the 400-meter run;
Camryn Snapp with a time of 4:07.51 in the 1500-meter run; and Nick McGaughey with a time of 58.99 in the 400-meter hurdles.
Rounding out the events on the track, Fields,
Keyshon Truitt,
Bradford Evans and Coates placed third in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 43.33; Harris also placed third in the steeplechase with a time of 10:18.30; Thomas placed third in the 400-meter dash in a time of 49.91; Battle placed second in the 100-meter dash in 10.83, breaking his own school record; and
Bret Crawford placed fourth in the 5000-meter run in a time of 15:55.95.
In the field,
Clayton Embry placed second in the hammer throw with 45.61 meters.
Nick Mabe cleared 1.83 meters in the high jump for fourth and Wiley claimed fifth in the long jump with a leap of 6.33 meters.
Campbellsville will be back in action on Saturday, April 21 at Bellarmine University.
