LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Tiger track and field completed its final tune-up before the Mid-South Conference Championships on Saturday at the Bellarmine Classic.
The lone first-place finish for Campbellsville came from
Brandon Battle who finished the 200-meter dash in 22.23. Following in the event were
Jaron Jackson in sixth with a time of 23.17 and
Bradford Evans in 10
th with a time of 23.91.
In the 100-meter hurdles,
Paxton Wiley grabbed a second-place finish in 15.41 and
Johannesburg Boulware earned fourth in 16.78.
Boulware went on to run the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 57.23 for second place.
Brayden Russell completed the same event in 1:00.16 for fourth.
Earning the last Top 5 finish for the Tigers,
Bret Crawford finished the 1500-meter run in fifth in a time of 4:02.06. Junior
Adam Sandidge followed in 10th place with a time of 4:04.34.
Rounding out the Top 10 finishes on the oval,
Keyshon Truitt ran the 400-meter run in a time of 53.14 for sixth place;
Edwin Ford finished the 100-meter dash in 11.553 for seventh place; Kelvin Fields completed the 100-meter dash in 11.557 for eighth; and
Chris Stoeckel ran the 800-meter run in 2:03.83 for seventh.
Brayden Russell led the field with two second-place finishes. He leaped 12.02 meters in the triple jump and cleared 1.80 meters in the high jump.
In the long jump,
Bradford Evans jumped 5.74 meters for sixth place and Truitt made 5.31 meters for seventh.
In the throws,
Clayton Embry stood out for the Tigers with two Top 10 finishes. He threw the hammer 47.61 meters for third place and the discus 29.73 meters for ninth. Also placing ninth was
Michael Hunt in the hammer throw with a 36.34-meter attempt.
Campbellsville will head to the Mid-South Conference Championships on Thursday, Apr. 27 for a three-day competition at the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Ky.
