WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – Tiger track and field currently sits in fourth place after completion of seven scored events at the Mid-South Conference Championships hosted by University of the Cumberlands.
Leading the way for the Tigers thus far, both
Clayton Embry and
Nicholas McGaughey earned second-place finishes in their respective events. Embry threw 45.60 meters in hammer for eight points and McGaughey earned 4970 points in the decathlon, breaking the school record in the high jump event with 1.77 meters.
On the track,
Adam Sandidge,
Chris Stoeckel,
Camryn Snapp and
Bret Crawford competed in the 4x800-meter relay. The team placed third with a time of 7:58.81 for six points.
In javelin,
Brayden Russell earned fourth with a throw of 49.70 meters,
Edwin Ford placed fifth with 48.46 meters and
Corbin Harris threw 45.79 meters for seventh. The trio earned 11 total points for Campbellsville in the event.
Rounding out the scoring for field events on Day 2, sophomore
Paxton Wiley placed seventh in long jump with a 6.47-meter attempt.
After preliminaries for tomorrow's events,
Tyler Lewis, Wiley,
Brandon Battle and Russell will be competing in the 110-meter high hurdles; Battle will be competing in the 100-meter dash; and Battle,
Jordan Thomas and
Jaron Jackson will be competing in the 200-meter dash.
Campbellsville will be back in action at the MSC Championship tomorrow morning, Saturday, Apr. 29 beginning at 9 a.m. ET.
