Softball Central: Lady Tigers host Georgetown College for Senior Weekend on Friday and Saturday

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — With two Mid-South Conference series' remaining this season, sixth-ranked Lady Tiger softball is in the driver's seat heading into this weekend. Georgetown College travels to Campbellsville for Senior Weekend starting on Friday afternoon.
 
The four-game series is slated to start with a doubleheader on Friday at 2 p.m. ET and another doubleheader on Saturday at 12:00. Brittany Rippy and Markie Smith will both be honored for Senior Day before first pitch on Saturday at approximately 11:30 a.m. ET.
 
All four games can be streamed on the Campbellsville University Sports Network and www.CampbellsvilleTigers.com/watch.
 
Campbellsville enters with a 27-7 record and 14-0 inside Mid-South Conference play. The Lady Tigers are also riding a 17-game win streak into the weekend with one of its top rivals. Georgetown College remains in third place in the standings with a 26-8 overall record and 9-3 inside MSC play. Lindsey Wilson College is second at 26-7, 12-0, as the Lady Tigers host the Blue Raiders to end the MSC portion of their schedule on April 13-14.
 
After starting the season 10-7, CU has rallied off 17 victories in a row, with its last loss coming to No. 15 Davenport on March 10. The Lady Tigers boast a 3-2 record against ranked foes and Georgetown College enters just outside the Coaches' Top 25 Poll as receiving votes at No. 26.
 
The Lady Tigers are led by freshman Tori Humphrey's .494 average and she is tied with junior Jacqueline Roof by smashing five home runs. Rood is second on the team hitting .411 and is tied with fellow junior Brianna Scott with the team-lead 30 RBI. Humphrey's .494 batting average is currently second on the single-season record list behind Bailey Dillender's .510 in 2009. Humphrey also ranks No. 1 in the MSC. Humphrey has also hit safely in 16 of the last 17 games.
 
As a team, the Lady Tigers have seven of the nine starters in the batting order hitting over .300. In addition, CU leads the Mid-South in hitting at .345 as a team and has out-scored opponents 226-103. CU's 226 runs are second behind Georgetown's 228.
 
The pitching staff has been solid as well, ranking No. 3 in the MSC with a team-ERA of 2.67. Neely Quint boasts a 13-4 record and 2.30 ERA. She's tossed eight complete games and three shutouts, while pitching 82 total innings. Quint has totals three one-hitters this season.

Morgan Gailor brings in an 11-3 record, 2.73 ERA and nine complete games. Rachel Denkins has also pitched excellent in 39 innings of relief with a 2.87 ERA, 3-0 record and ranking No. 8 in the NAIA with three saves.
 
Georgetown College enters after winning its previous eight games. The Tigers split with Shawnee State on March 21 and were swept by Lindsey Wilson on March 25 for its lone MSC losses.
 
Sydney Goyette leads the Tigers by hitting .435 this year with nine home runs and 38 RBI. Chaselyn Allgeier is also hitting over 400 at .414 and leads the team by swiping 29-of-30 bases this year on the base paths.
 
In the circle, Audrey Dodd and Hannah Morton are the weekend starters, while Kara Howard has also started in eight games. Morton leads GC with an ERA of .198, while Dodd sits at 2.01 and 14-5 overall.
