GULF SHORES, Ala. – Tiger and Lady Tiger track and field kick-started the 2017 NAIA Championships with a final cut in the 4x100-meter relay at Mickey Miller Blackwell Stadium.
The team of Kelvin Fields,
Brandon Battle,
Jordan Thomas and
Jaron Jackson broke the school record in the 4x100-meter relay by .57 seconds, qualifying for finals in eighth place with a time of 41.42. The final will be held at 3:50 p.m. ET on Saturday, May 27.
Battle went on to race in the 200-meter preliminary, finishing in 15
th place with a time of 21.36, just .01 seconds off his personal record.
Completing Day 1 of the championships for Campbellsville, Brianna Harman competed in javelin, finishing in 20
th with a throw of 35.64 meters.
Campbellsville begins Day 2 of competition on Thursday, May 26 at 2:45 p.m. ET with
Paxton Wiley in the 110-meter hurdles.
