Tigers pick up Nashville swimmer Brandon Bagwell for 2017-18

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Hillsboro High School swimmer, Brandon Bagwell, signed May 9 to join Campbellsville University.
 
He swam competitively for six years, starting with the Nashville Parks and Recreations Metro Dolphins of Hartman Park from 2011 to 2015. He then joined the Martin Luther King Junior Magnet High School Swim team from 2013 to 2015, and the Hillsboro High School Swim team  from 2015 to 2017.
 
He was also a member of Excel Aquatics Swim Club from 2015-2017.
 
His best events are the 100 breaststroke, and 50 and 100 freestyle.
 
Bagwell made the regional cut for the 100 breaststroke, and 50 and 100 freestyle three years. He made the State Cut for the 100 breaststroke in 2017.
 
He plans to major in mass communications with a minor in psychology.
 
"Brandon and his family are very excited about coming to CU this fall," said coach Casey Smith. "I am thrilled to have them as I know they will be a great fit with our program and the growth we have ahead of us.
 
"Brandon's hard work and dedication over the past few years shows me that he is going to be a very hard worker here not only in the pool but in all aspects of being a thriving member of Campbellsville University – both as an athlete and as a student. I am thrilled to add him to the team."
