COLUMBIA, KY – The Tigers finished out the regular season over the weekend with one final meet before the Mid-South Conference Championships.
Campbellsville began the meet with a runner-up finish in the 200-yard medley relay.
Ian Lopez,
Yuri Prokopchuk,
Llewellyn Crewe-Brown, and
Jackson Willett were only 1.05 seconds off the win behind Lindsey Wilson, swimming 1:39.70.
Logan Pisula and Kase Moore scored points in the 200-yard breaststroke, placing 2nd and 3rd. Pisula was the runner-up in 2:36.00, and Moore earned the bronze in 2:49.45.
Crewe-Brown was the first athlete for the Tiger to pick up a solo win on the day. He won the 100-yard backstroke by 1.53 seconds in 56.86.
Ian Lopez brought the team a 2nd place finish in his 50-yard freestyle with a time of 22.45. In the 400-yard IM,
Andreu Jaén Serra placed 2nd overall in 4:25.07. Jaen-Serra picked up his second runner-up performance of the day in the 500-yard freestyle in 4:45.12.
Adam Peeden gave Campbellsville another podium finish in the 200-yard backstroke. Peeden placed 3rd in the event in 2:28.95. Prokopchuk was only .50 off the victory for the 100-yard breaststroke. He was the runner-up in the event, swimming 57.47. Crewe-Brown beat out his opponent for 3rd in the 100-yard butterfly. He earned the bronze by .22 seconds with a time of 55.24.
Campbellsville finished out the day, earning both 2nd and 3rd in the 200-yard freestyle relay. Lopez, Crewe-Brown, Willett, and Jaen-Serra were on the runner-up relay team in 1:30.66. On the 3rd-place team,
Bosco Barrero, Prokopchuk, Pisula, and
Martin Venegas swam the event in 1:34.16.
The Tigers will now have their sights set on the Mid-South Conference Championships. This year's conference will be held at Centre College in Danville, KY from February 6-8.
