GREENSBORO, S.C. — The National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) announced its 2017 Baseball All-Americans and Campbellsville University had three Tigers honored.
Nick Przybylek earned First-Team honors, while
Romello Carbuccia and
Indalecio Romo earned Third-Team selections. In addition, Carbuccia earned NCCAA World Series All-Tournament after his performance in the World Series last month.
Przybylek, the ace on the staff from Riverside, Calif., finished his career with a 3.82 ERA and 9-4 record during his senior campaign. Przybylek appeared in 20 games, while starting 20 and tossing five complete-games. He led the Tigers by pitching in 106 innings and striking out 92.
Romo, who came off Tommy John surgery this season, shined on the hill in 11 games and 10 starts. He led the started with a 2.34 ERA while tossing 57.2 innings and striking out 36. Opponents hit .237 off Romo during his senior year.
Carbuccia was one of the hottest hitters to end the season and went 9-for-26 in the NCCAA World Series to earn All-Tournament team honors. He ended his career with a .300 average and was one of two Tigers to start in all 62 games. Carbuccia led the Tigers with nine home runs and 12 stolen bases, tied for second with 17 doubles and third on the team in RBIs with 42 and hits with 67.
In addition to the on-the-field accolades,
Clayton Carrico,
Hunter Christensen,
Nick Johnston and
David Montoya earned NCCAA Scholar-Athlete honors with atleast a 3.4 GPA.
The Tigers ended the year as NCCAA World Series Runner-Up and appeared in their 17
th NAIA Opening Round and Regional Championship, finishing runner-up for the third straight season.
