FARGO, N.D. — McKayla Campbell, Katlyn Pizzo and Alexia Foca had a good showing this past weekend at the U.S. Marine Corps Junior Nationals held at the Fargodome.

All three incoming freshmen for coach Lee Miracle and the Lady Tigers, finished in the Top 7 of their respective weights.
 
Campbell clashed with another World Team member in the 106-pound final with Pennsylvania's Vayle Baker. Baker notched a wild 11-11 criteria win over Campbell, who was competing for her home state of Ohio. Baker will compete on her second Cadet World Team this year, while Campbell will do the same on the Junior side.
 
Also at 106-pounds, Michigan native Katlyn Pizzo finished third after taking down Brelane Huber via tech fall, 13-2.
 
Foca, who fell into the consolation bracket, finished seventh with a 2-0 victory over Illinois' Brooke Holt at 152-pounds.
 
California led all states with four women being crowned Junior Nationals champions. Wisconsin was the only other state with multiple champions at three.
 
The team race was a runaway for perennial power California. The state claimed its eighth-straight and 13th overall Junior Nationals team title with 99 total points, four champions and 22 All-Americans. Wisconsin came in second place with 45 team points, and Washington finished in third place with 44 team points.

Campbell and 2017 WCWA National Champion Andribeth Rivera will now compete at the Junior World Championships in Finland starting on Aug. 1.
