Women’s Volleyball drops second-straight match after 3-0 loss at No. 3 Lindsey Wilson

COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lady Tiger offense was stymied in a 3-0 loss to rival and No. 3-ranked Lindsey Wilson College on Tuesday night at Biggers Sports Center.
 
Campbellsville (8-2, 1-2 Mid-South Conference) was held to a -.042 attacking percentage. Julia Fonseca led the Lady Tigers with five kills, while Katie Johnson notched a team-high eight digs.
 
Grace Blomstedt finished with a match-high 10 kills and seven blocks for the Blue Raiders (14-0, 5-0 MSC). Caitlyn Tino recorded 14 digs and Mackenzie Montano had 30 assists.
 
Lindsey Wilson took control of the match early jumping out to a 6-1 lead and forcing an early timeout from Campbellsville in the first set. After the Blue Raiders took a 13-7 lead in the opening set, they closed on 12-0 run to grab a 1-0 advantage.
 
The Lady Tigers were held to a negative hitting percentage for the first time all season they hit -.065 in the first set, compared the Lindsey Wilson's .423.
 
Campbellsville traded points with the Blue Raiders in the second set, but the 7-0 run from Lindsey Wilson gave the Blue Raiders a 13-6 lead. The Lady Tigers never recovered as they pulled within six points, but Lindsey Wilson continued to stretch its lead en route to a 25-12 win in the second set.
 
For the second-straight game, Campbellsville was held to negative hitting percentage, -0.028.
 
To start the third set, the Lady Tigers picked up their first lead of the match with a kill from Olivia Jarvis followed by a Blue Raider error. However, the Campbellsville lead did not last as Lindsey Wilson rallied to take 5-4 lead and the Blue Raiders never looked back.
 
Lindsey Wilson pulled away to a grab its largest lead of the set of 16 at the close of the match. The Blue Raiders completed the sweep with a 25-9 win in the third set.
 
Campbellsville was held to a negative hitting percentage for the match, -.042. This marks the first time since at least 2006 the Lady Tigers have been held to a negative attacking percentage.
 
Campbellsville returns home on Thursday night to face Life University at 7 p.m. ET.
