CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Campbellsville's women's wrestling team was one of two teams to earn an opening round bye at the NWCA-WCWA National Duals, the organization announced on Tuesday afternoon.
The duals take place on Thursday and Friday at the War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Fourteen teams are slated to compete in the double elimination bracket. The NWCA is also hosting NAIA, NJCAA, NCAA Division II and NCAA Division III tournaments as part of its NWCA Multi-Divisional National Duals.
After earning the bye, the Lady Tigers will face either Life University or University of the Cumberlands in the championship quarterfinals.
Earlier this season, Campbellsville picked up a 36-9 victory and a 32-13 win over Life. The Lady Tigers also went 3-0 against the Patriots earning dual victories of 35-11 and 32-13. Just before Christmas break, Campbellsville notched a 35-11 victory over Cumberlands at the Beast of the East in Newark, Delaware.
Overall, Campbellsville has posted a record of 11-0 overall and won the Mid-South Conference regular season and tournament titles.
At the national duals last season, the Lady Tigers finished third overall. Campbellsville went 3-1 in the tournament with its only loss coming to then No. 1 King University who won the national duals.
