COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Campbellsville women's swimming team went winless in its dual against Lindsey Wilson College and dropped the meet, 169-71, to the Blue Raiders on the road in Columbia, Ky., on Saturday afternoon.
The Lady Tigers finished the regular season with a 3-5 record following the loss on Saturday night.
Campbellsville's 200-yard medley relay team of
Faith Hyde,
Morgan Bryant,
Brooklynn Friel and
Lauren Sears finished in second place with a time of 2:04.46, which hit the NAIA A standard.
The first individual event featured
Kate Bouldin coming in third place of the 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 22:11.98.
A trio of Lady Tigers competed in the 200-yard freestyle, where Friel led the way with a second-place finishing time of 2:09.50. Runner finished fourth overall, followed by
Chelsie VanWhy with times of 2:15.52 and 2:25.07.
In the 100-yard backstroke, Hyde, Sears and Turner finished consecutively to round out the field. Hyde notched a time of 1:07.90, while Sears finished in 1:08.54 and Turner touched the wall in 1:23.25.
Campbellsville's third runner-up finish came in the 100-yard breaststroke after Bryant posted a time of 1:22.89 and
Lexie Upton started her meet with a third-place finishing time of 1:23.65. Buckman was the lone individual for the Lady Tigers in the 200-yard butterfly where she split a pair of Lindsey Wilson swimmers to finish second with a time of 2:45.97.
The 50-yard freestyle sprint saw Runner (29.24),
Olivia Schneider (29.87) and Turner (34.81) all finish in a row as the trio placed third through fifth. Sears and VanWhy finished in second and third in the 100-yard freestyle after Sears posted a time of 1:02.19 and VanWhy finished in 1:06.66.
Campbellsville's duo of Hyde and VanWhy competed in the 200-yard backstroke and rounded out the three-person field. Hyde finished with time of 2:30.21, while VanWhy notched a mark of 2:47.42.
Upton was the only Lady Tiger in the 200-yard backstroke and she finished second with a time of 3:02.67. In the 500-yard freestyle, Schneider swam a 6:11.63 to place fourth and Bouldin was just behind in fifth with a 6:29.60.
Closing in the on the final portion of the meet, Friel placed second overall in the 100-yard butterfly and finished nearly three seconds behind the winner with a time of 1:03.58. Buckman was the final individual to score in the event after she posted a mark of 1:14.83, just .23 outside the top three.
Individual action came to a close in the 200-yard individual medley where Upton and Bryant finished fourth and fifth overall. Upton completed her day with time of 2:36.30 and Bryant notched a time of 2:48.61.
To end the meet, Campbellsville's quartet of Friel, VanWhy, Runner and Sears hit the national standard in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:52.00 to place second. Hyde, Bryant, Bouldin and Schneider placed fourth after completing the relay in 2:00.93, which also hit the national cut line.
The Lady Tigers now head into postseason action at the Mid-South Conference Championships in Kingsport, Tennessee at the start of February.
