Lady Tiger basketball continues road trip seeking ninth straight win over Cumberland on Saturday

LEBANON, Tenn. — Lady Tiger basketball is seeking to win its ninth straight game over Cumberland University on Saturday afternoon.

Tipoff between the two is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET at the Dallas Floyd Recreation. The Voice of Tiger Basketball, Matt Payton, will have the radio call on 88.7 The Tiger and CampbellsvilleTigers.com starting at 2:45.

Third-ranked Campbellsville is coming off a 68-63 win over No. 8 Lindsey Wilson on Thursday night. In that win, Madison Faulkner scored a career-high 16 points in her first start of the season, while Caitlin Hall dished out a career-high nine assists.

Series Facts:

CU and Cumberland are meeting for the 34th time. The Lady Tigers lead the overall series 29-4.
Campbellsville has won the previous eight games - with three of those victories by four points or less. Eight of the 11 meetings have been decided by nine points or less, including three overtime games.
In the Ginger Colvin and Jeremy Lewis eras, Campbellsville holds a 9-3 edge in the series.
Both teams have met only once in the postseason, with Cumberland winning its first MSC champion- ship, 59-46, in the 2012-13 year - its first year as a conference member since moving to the Trans South Conference after the 2001-02 season.
Since the Phoenix re-entered the conference, the Lady Tigers lead the series 8-3.
LTB won the first-ever matchup in the 1992-93 season, 103-82.

After losing her sister due to complications from child birth earlier in the week, Gregory rallied around her teammates to score 11 points vs. LWC.

When CU leads at halftime, the Lady Tigers are a perfect 18-0 on the year.
When the Lady Tigers convert on more free throws than the opponent, CU is 15-0.
The Lady Tigers are also 12-0 when winning the rebounding battle.

MSC Standings:

The victory moved Campbellsville to 19-3 overall and 5-1 inside the Mid-South Conference.
CU is currently second in the regular season standings behind Shawnee State (6-0).
Cumberland University is third in the standings at 15-6 overall and 4-2 in the MSC.
Lindsey Wilson fell to 3-2 inside MSC play and is fourth, while Cumberlands and UPIKE are both 2-4. Georgetown College is 1-5 and Life University is 0-5.
