Tiger Bass Fishing wins 2018 Battle of the Bluegrass on Lake Cumberland

LAKE CUMBERLAND — Tiger bass fishing won the 2018 Battle of the Bluegrass this weekend to bring the traveling trophy back to Campbellsville University.

The Battle of the Bluegrass is scored differently than any other tournament. The winners are based off the top two teams from each university and the winning school is granted hosting rights for the following season.

Campbellsville had 10 boats in the field and was led by Dalton Smith and Payton Cox who totaled three fish for 9.1 lbs. The second duo was Mason Sapp and Morgan Miracle with five fish for 7.85 lbs.

The total weight was 16.95 lbs. to take first place.

The Battle of the Bluegrass Championship completes the fall schedule for CU as it awaits B.A.S.S. to release its schedule for the 2019 season.
