Basketball is here: #3 Lady Tigers tipoff 2018-19 season this weekend at Chamber Classic

Lady Tiger Basketball opens season with Brescia University on Friday night at 7pm

McKENZIE, Tenn. — The 45thyear of Campbellsville University Lady Tiger Basketball gets underway on Friday and Saturday as CU travels to the Bethel University Chamber Classic for the fifth straight season to open the schedule. 
 
The third-ranked Lady Tigers open the year with Brescia University out of the River States Conference on Friday night, Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. ET. 
 
Fans can tune into the Campbellsville University Sports Network as Jordan Alves will fill-in for Matt Payton, the Voice of Tiger and Lady Tiger Basketball, as he finishes up football broadcasting responsibilities for the 2018 season. The pregame show begins at 6:45 on CampbellsvilleTigers.com/watch. 
 

TIGER CLAWZ:
  • Lady Tiger Basketball enters its 45th season and has an overall record of 962-359. 
  • The 962 wins is third-most in NAIA history and is the second-highest for active NAIA programs. 
  • Ginger High Colvin begins her 12th year at the helm. 
  • Assistant Coach Miranda Denney was inducted into the Somerset High School Hall of Fame in October. 
  • Campbellsville reached its 26th national tournament last season - which is an NAIA record. 
  • The Lady Tigers signed six newcomers to the 2018-19 roster - Madison Sheppard, Lexy Lake, Faith Lake, Shelby Harmeyer, Lashaya Carman and Courtney Pritchett
  • Harmeyer and Pritchett have decided to redshirt their first season as the Lady Tigers have their best depth off the bench in recent history. 
  • Senior Madison Kaiser will start the year on the sidelines after being hampered by an injured right foot. Kaiser played in all 35 games last season and averaged 7.2 points per game. 
  • The Lady Tigers have started the season at the Bethel University Chamber Classic for the fifth straight season - CU has an 8-0 record the past four years. 
  • Last season, CU defeated Blue Mountain College (77- 52) and Martin Methodist (78-53) in the Classic. 
  • Campbellsville is one of two teams from the Mid- South Conference in the Top 3 of the NAIA Rankings. 
  • CU is scheduled to play only six games against ranking opponents in the NAIA Preseason Poll. 
 
SERIES FACTS VS. BRESCIA:
  • Campbellsville and Brescia are meeting for the 31st time in program history and the first since 2013. 
  • The Lady Tigers hold a 21-9 overall record over Brescia.
  • In the Ginger Colvin era, CU holds a 3-0 record.
  • The last loss vs. Brescia came in the 2007 season on the road, 76-51.
