CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Campbellsville women's volleyball earned its second-straight win at the Powell Athletic Center Tuesday night over the University of Pikeville in straight sets.
The Lady Tigers were rarely threatened in the match, winning each set by six or seven points, 25-18, 25-19, 25-18. CU hit significantly better than UPike, as the Lady Tigers hit .198 in the match compared to .104 for the Bears.

Maria Coelho had a big night for CU after having to sit out last Tuesday's match, leading the way for the Lady Tigers with 13 kills. The rest of the Campbellsville attack was pretty balanced as setter
Paige Merrick spread the ball around to six different Lady Tigers with multiple kills.

Jaimie Thompson had a solid day on defense for CU with 26 digs in three sets, including a couple of impressive pancake digs to keep the ball off the floor keeping the volley alive. Thompson and Merrick each had double-digit digs t combine for 42 of the 72 total team digs for the Lady Tigers.
CU will be back at the Powell Athletic Center this Saturday to host the Green River Classic where they will play back-to-back matches. The first match will be against Fisk University at 1 p.m. ET followed by a match against Xavier University of Louisiana at 3 p.m. ET. Game times being subject to change based on the length of the early matches, which also includes Fisk and Xavier playing each other at 11 a.m. ET.
