Lexy Lake repeats, as three others earn career-highs in 103-54 win over Virgin Islands

Box Score CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — If by chance you thought Lexy Lake's career-high performance last night was a fluke she proved you wrong today as the freshman matched her scoring output from Tuesday in a 103-54 win over the Virgin Islands.

Lake hit another five 3-pointers and dropped 17 points once again to lead the Lady Tigers to an 8-1 record and back-to-back wins over the Lady Bucs.

Madison Kaiser once again hit her average of 11 points, while Gregory finished with 12. A couple career-highs were met as Ashlee McGeorge scored nine points, while Madison Sheppard dished out four assists and Savannah Gregory matched her high with five dimes.

Campbellsville was out-rebounded last night for the second time all season but tonight dominated the boards, 51-35. The difference was the offensive rebounds as CU scored 23 second chance points.

Like last night, the Virgin Islands hung around early, but a big run ended any hopes of an upset over the fifth-ranked team in the country. CU led just 16-10 with 5:33 left in the opening quarter but a 43-18 run to end the half was the difference.

The Lake twins – Lexy and Faith – hit three straight 3s. Lexy hit one, Faith hit another and Lexy capped the run to put CU ahead, 25-12. Calbert followed suit with her first 3 and Campbellsville started 6-of-9 from deep.

Fast forward all the way to the final score, Campbellsville finished with a season-high 12 3-pointers (12-of-24).

No Lady Tiger played more than 15 minutes but Faith Lake. She saw 24 minutes of action and scored eight points, two boards and hit a pair of Edward Jones 3-pointers.

Every Lady Tiger dressed scored a point but Caitlin Hall. The junior point guard got others involved with six assists in just 14 minutes of play.

No. 5 Campbellsville gets back under with its third of five-straight home games at the Powell Athletic Center. The Lady Tigers welcome Ohio Christian to Campbellsville on Saturday afternoon with tipoff at 1 p.m. ET.
