Lakin Walls earns NAIA Women's Soccer All-America Honorable Mention honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The 2018 NAIA Women's Soccer All-America Team was announced this week and Campbellsville's Lakin Walls earned Honorable Mention honors. 
 
Walls, a junior from Bardstown, Ky. boasts a perfect 4.0 GPA in biology and is also finished with 20 goals this past season – which is fourth in a single-season in CU history.

She becomes the third Lady Tiger to be named an NAIA All-American and the fifth honor overall for the program. Amanda Howard was a First and Second Team member in 2015 and 2016, while Mhairi Fyfe was Honorable Mention and Third Team honoree in 2014 and 2015, respectively. 
 
In 2018, Walls had a stellar junior season. She finished with 46 points – 20 goals and six assists. Over the 12 games that she scored in six of them were two-goal games and on Oct. 17 at Pikeville, Walls recorded a hat trick. 
 
She finished the year ranked No. 17 in the NCCAA with six game-winning goals, No. 20 with 46 points and No. 22 with 20 goals. The goal count also ranked No. 7 in the NCCAA.
 
In addition to being named First-Team All Mid-South Conference, Walls also earned CoSIDA First-Team All-District mention in November and Academic All-American honors earlier this week. She becomes the first Lady Tiger since Rachel Veatch in 2015 to earn the CoSIDA Academic All-America honor and the fourth Lady Tiger in history as Jessica Ralph and Brandi Hagerman were selections in 2012.
