NAIA Top 3 Showdown hits the road for Portsmouth, Ohio; #3 Lady Tigers travel to #1 Shawnee State

PORTSMOUTH, Ohio — For the second time this season, No. 3 Lady Tiger basketball is facing the top-ranked team in the NAIA Coaches' Poll. Campbellsville has its most important - and final - road trip of the regular season seeking to match No. 1 Shawnee State at the top of the Mid-South Conference standings.

The Lady Tigers and Bears battle it out on Thursday, Feb. 15. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET in the Frank and Janis Waller Gym in Portsmouth, Ohio.

The Lady Tigers are looking to win just their third game over the Bears in the Ginger Colvin era at the Frank and Janis Waller Gym but to do so they have to knock off the newly top-ranked Bears. Shawnee State earned all first-place votes in this week's edition of the Coaches' Poll with 219 voting points. Campbellsville remained at No. 3 for the fourth-straight week with 205 points.

Campbellsville is playing arguably its best basketball of the season after Madison Faulkner has lit a spark under the team. Faulkner, a sophomore forward from Horse Cave, Ky., was inserted into the starting lineup five games ago and has averaged 17 points in that span, including a career-high 23 vs. University of the Cumberlands last Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Tigers do expect to get leading scorer Madison Clements back to full health on Thursday night. She did play last week in limited action and scored 12 points in the combined two contests vs. Life University and University of the Cumberlands.
