No. 3 Lady Tigers conclude road schedule with matchup at Pikeville on Saturday

PIKEVILLE, Ky. — In the past 11 years, head coach Ginger Colvin has only lost to University of Pikeville once - which came in 2014-15. The Lady Tigers have won four straight of UPIKE in the past two seasons and are seeking to rebound after a tough loss to No. 1 Shawnee State on Thursday night.
 
Campbellsville has a quick turnaround and has to put the loss to SSU behind them, as the Lady Tigers tip-off vs. UPIKE on Saturday, Feb. 17 at 2 p.m. ET in the East Kentucky Expo Center. Madison Faulkner has continued her torrid pace as of late, scoring 17.8 points per game in the last six, including a career-high 23 vs. Cumberlands last week and dropped 22 vs. No. 1 Shawnee State on Thursday.
 
With three regular season games left, CU is looking to remain at No. 2 in the regular season standings behind the Bears of Shawnee State. But the Lady Tigers have three of the toughest games remaining on their schedule - at UPIKE on Saturday and returning to host Cumberland University and Lindsey Wilson College next week.
 
UPIKE is coming in Saturday after knocking off Georgetown, 63-62. Before Thursday night, UPIKE lost 59-37 to Cumberland University and 69-55 to Lindsey Wilson. The Bears remain at home to conclude their regular season, hosting Life and Cumberlands next week.
 
Series Facts vs. UPIKE
  • Campbellsville and Pikeville are meeting today for the 78th time in history. CU dominates the series, 69-8.
    The very first meeting came back in the 1979-80 season with the Lady Tigers winning, 75-58.
  • Coach Ginger Colvin is 19-1 overall and 10-0 while playing in the Powell Athletic Center.
  • CU is 9-1 while playing in Pikeville, Ky.
  • The lone loss in Pikeville in Colvin's tenure came on Feb. 12, 2015, 74-71.
  • Today marks the fourth matchup between Colvin and UPIKE head coach Clifton Williams.

  • The 23 wins is the third most in the NAIA. Shawnee State has 24 wins, while LSU- Shreveport has 26.
  • Leading scorer Madison Clements missed three- straight games with an ankle sprain but returned last week to score 12 combined points. She did not score on Thursday night vs. SSU, missing all six shots.
  • In true road games this season, CU is 7-1. The first loss on the road came Thursday night to Shawnee State, 90-78.
  • While playing at home, CU is 9-1. Its lone loss also came to Shawnee State.
  • Madison Clements scored her 1,000th-point vs. Georgetown College on Jan. 6 - marking her the 34th Lady Tiger to join the 1,000-point Club.
  • When CU leads at halftime, the Lady Tigers are a perfect 23-0 on the year.
  • When the Lady Tigers convert on more free throws than the opponent, CU is 18-0.
  • The Lady Tigers are also 15-0 when winning the rebounding battle.
