CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The third-ranked Campbellsville Lady Tigers won their fourth straight Mid-South Conference game with a 95-61 victory over the Life University Running Eagles Thursday night.
Campbellsville (22-3, 8-1 MSC) showed its offensive strength shooting 47 percent (35-of-75). Of those 35 made baskets, the Lady Tigers combined for 26 assists with
Caitlin Hall picking up a game-high seven and
Madison Stewart a career-high with six.
Jordan Doram pitched in a season-high 18 points – three off her career-high of 21 set on Dec. 30 last season.
Savannah Gregory and
Madison Faulkner also had stellar offensive nights scoring 17 and 16 points, respectively. Faulkner's 16 points matched her career-high, which was set against Lindsey Wilson on Jan. 25.
Life University committed a season-high 31 turnovers, while the Lady Tigers were able to capitalize off these miscues for 31 points.
Campbellsville was able to take control early in the first quarter and hold on as it led for 37:49 of the total 40 minutes.
Heading into halftime, the Lady Tigers had a 16-point lead, 41-25, one of their largest of the game thus far. Gregory lead all scorers, collecting 13 first-half points.
The second half wrote a similar story with the Lady Tigers outscoring the Running Eagles 24-14 and 30-22 in the remaining quarters of play.
CU's bench once again proved itself by combining for 42 points, compared to 18 for Life.
The Running Eagles were led by Sydney Garning's 13 points and four assists.
Campbellsville returns to Powell Athletic Center on Saturday at 2 p.m. ET for a Mid-South Conference matchup against the University of the Cumberlands.
