Lady Tigers earn 11 WCWA All-Americans, while Miracle, Bullen and Harris punch tickets to finals

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — Lady Tiger wrestling has three individuals – Kayla Miracle, Grace Bullen and Mariah Harris - punch their ticket to the WCWA National Championship round, while No. 1 Campbellsville is currently in second place.
 
The Lady Tigers totaled 155.5 points, while No. 2 Simon Fraser tallied 168. Simon Fraser has five grapplers in the championship round and four in the consolation bracket, while the Lady Tigers have three and seven, respectively.
 
Campbellsville had an impressive number of 11 grapplers move on into the quarterfinal of the championship bracket and each earned All-American honors – McKayla Campbell (101), Katlyn Pizzo (109), Charlotte Fowler (109), Steffanie Hampton (123), Koral Sugiyama (123), Grace Bullen (130), Shelby Hall (130), Kayla Miracle (136), Alexia Foca (143), Mariah Harris (170) and Kaitlyn Hill (191).
 
Miracle, Fowler, Sugiyama, Hall and Harris are all repeat All-Americans.
 
No. 2 Bullen, a Junior World bronze medalist and 2014 Cadet World champion for Norway competing at 130 lbs., out-scored opponents 37-0. She earned a win over No. 1 Megan Black of McKendree University. Bullen, a six-time European age-group champion, came into the tourney unseeded.
 
No. 1 Miracle put up a 27-nil point total. Miracle is seeking to become the fourth individual ever to win four national titles and is competing 136 lbs. this season.
 
No. 5 Harris earned four victories today but capped it off with a major upset over No. 1 Rachel Watters of Oklahoma City, 9-5, in the semifinal.
 
In addition to three in the finals tomorrow, the Lady Tigers have a tournament-high seven in the consolation bracket looking to earn more team points.
 
Of the 11 in the quarterfinals, five Lady Tigers lost and moved to the consolation bracket while six went to the semi's.
 
In addition to the three in the championship bouts tomorrow, Fowler, Sugiyama and Foca all earned semifinal bids as well. Campbell, Pizzo, Hampton, Hall and Hill all reached the quarters.
 
Fowler earned three impressive wins before falls to Emmauel Maria Vidales, 5-2. Sugiyama picked up four wins in the championship bracket before falling 9-2 to Simon Fraser's Alex Hendrick. Foca, competing in her first WCWA championship, out-scored her opponents 18-0 through the first three rounds before falling to Mallory Vette, 10-0.
 
Campbell, who earned two victories, lost to Alexis Seal (Simon Fraser), 13-6. Campbell will face University of the Cumberlands' Arelys Valles tomorrow.
 
Pizzo, lost to Emmanuel's Maria Vidales, 10-0 and her championship ended with a 15-5 loss to Leiana Nacapuy in the consolation bracket.
 
Hampton's tournament was also finished today, falling 8-0 to Simon Fraser's Dominique Parrish and 12-2 Sunita Sewak in consecutive matches.
 
Hall's title bid was cut short after Missouri Baptist'a Erika Mihalca earned an 8-7 win in the final 10 seconds. Hall went on to defeat Aliosha Perriard of Simon Fraser, 11-0, and will wrestle Allison Petix tomorrow.
 
At 191, Hill fell 6-2 to Leilano Camargo of Midland University. But like her teammate Shelby Hall, Hill rallied in the consolation bracket with a 7-2 win over Leye Deickman. She will face Desttane Garrick of McKendree on Saturday.
