Five games in three days on tap for No. 19 Baseball; hosts Indiana Tech and Kentucky Christian

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Following a few schedules changes this week, the Tigers have five games on tap over the next three days with all five games coming at HIG Field.
 
Starting on Wednesday afternoon, No. 19 Campbellsville hosts Indiana Institute of Technology at 1 p.m. ET for a doubleheader. The Tigers then host Kentucky Christian University on Thursday and Friday for a three-game set in Campbellsville. Action on Thursday begins at 2 p.m. ET with two games, followed by one game on Friday.
 
Coming into the week, Campbellsville has recorded an 11-8 mark after splitting a doubleheader last time out against Martin Methodist College. Last Friday, the Tigers took the first game from the RedHawks, 6-1, but dropped game two, 10-2.
 
Matthew Valdez has led the Campbellsville offense this season with an average of .391 as the team has recorded a .272 batting average. Valdez has also belted five home runs and driven in 11 runs on 27 hits – all leading the team. Ty Housden in second on the team with 19 hits and has posted a .328 batting average in 18 appearances.
 
On the mound, the Tigers have a team ERA of 3.90 heading into the week, where DJ Wilson and Justin Phillips lead the bullpen with ERAs of 0.00 and 1.29, respectively. Brandon Diaz has paced the starters with a 1.98 ERA in 13-2/3 innings of work. Logan Roberts leads the team with 21 strikeouts and Parker Loutensock – who earned his first win of the season on Friday – has struck out 19 hitters this season.
 
Indiana Tech is 11-11 on the year after taking two of three games from University of Northwestern Ohio. The Warriors are just 3-4 in their last seven games and 6-10 in the spring. Earlier this season, the Tigers beat Indiana Tech in a neutral site game, 7-0. Glen Mcclain has recorded a .415 batting average to lead the Warriors, to go along with 22 hits and 12 RBIs. Jason Sterrett leads the Indiana Tech pitchers with a 4-1 record this season and a 3.72 ERA. As a team, the Warriors have a 4.67 ERA and have allowed opponents to hit .291 against them.
 
Kentucky Christian is currently in its first season of competition and comes into the week with a record of 0-11. The Knights dropped a 9-1 contest in their last game at home to Kentucky State University last Friday. Kentucky Christian has a team batting average of .203 with a Jantzen Smith leading the team with a .357 average and 10 hits. On the mound, the Knights have a team ERA of 12.67, while allowing the opposition to hit .346 at the plate.
 
First pitch on Thursday is set for 1 p.m. ET against Indiana Tech in a doubleheader. The Tiger's three-game series with Kentucky Christian is set for Thursday and Friday with all five games this week taking place at HIG Field.
