CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Midway University recorded six of its seven runs in two-out situations as Campbellsville suffered a 7-3 setback on Tuesday evening at HIG Field.
The Tigers (24-11) have now lost two games in a row after they squandered an early 3-0 lead against the Eagles (19-17).
Campbellsville got off to another strong start with two runs on three hits and error in the first inning.
Marco Murillo singled up the middle with one out to score

Logan Roberts on a fielder's choice to put the Tigers ahead, 2-0.
In the third inning,
David Montoya plated Campbellsville's third and final run of the ball game with a sacrifice fly to right field allowing Murillo to score. After notching six hits in the first three innings, the Tigers recorded just two hits over the final six frames – one in the fourth and one in the sixth.
Kirby Broadbent was cruising to start the game as he allowed just one hit through the first 5-2/3 innings. However, Midway found some life in the sixth inning. After a one-out error, the Eagles compiled four hits and four runs all coming with two outs to grab a 4-3 lead over the Tigers.
Midway grabbed some more separation in the eighth inning after a one-out RBI single from Barrett Croslin, followed by a two-out, two-run home run from Koy Lindsey to put the Eagles ahead, 7-3.
Campbellsville's offense went cold as the last seven batters for the Tigers went down in order in the 7-3 loss for Campbellsville.
Roberts and Murillo paced the Tiger offense with two hits apiece, while Graeham Luttor recorded two of Midway's eight hits in the contest.
Broadbent (2-2) suffered the loss after allowing four runs – all unearned – on five hits. Broadbent struck out seven batters in the contest to lead all pitchers.
Mark Taylor (3-2) threw six innings in the win allowing three runs on eight hits. Anibal Salado and Noah Marion combined for three no-hit innings allowing just two walks and no runs in the victory.
Campbellsville is back on the road Wednesday afternoon for a doubleheader against University of Rio Grande starting at 1:30 p.m. ET.
