Dungan and Ratliff are 6th; Cantrell and Moore are 14th at Bassmaster College Series Championship

LAKE TENKILLER, Okla. — Bradley Dunagan and Nick Ratliff showed out on Day 1 of the Carhartt Bassmaster College Series National Championship presented by Bass Pro Shops on Tenkiller Lake. The top Tiger duo sits in sixth place out of 136 boats in the championship field.

Dunagan and Ratliff, fishing in their first national championship as a duo, reeled in a limit of five fish that weighed 14 pounds 7 ounces for 481.62 points (both pictured below).

The Tigers had two other boats in the field and another duo sits right outside the Top 12 – which is the cutline for Saturday's finale. Dakota Cantrell and Austin Moore are in 14th place after catching only three fish but the trio weighed in at eight pounds and 11 ounces.

Dustin Jones and Dalton Smith are in 52ndafter catching only two fish for four pounds.

Last year, Campbellsville had a boat in the field for the first time in program history as Ratliff teamed up with Luke Patterson to placed 14th and just missed the cut by three ounces.

A change from a final-day practice with overcast skies took the 135 teams in the contest out of the steam pot and onto a frying pan under bluebird skies in 102-degree heat. An encore at 106 degrees is forecast for Friday, as the full field takes a second shot at making the Top 12 for Saturday's finale.

Only 88 of the teams weighed a fish. Cody Huff and Garrett Enders from Bethel University were the only ones to break the 16-pound mark and sit in first place after a 16-pound- 10-ounce day.  Twelfth place registered an even 10 pounds. Among that top echelon three teams had 4-fish limits and two teams had 3-fish bags.

Enders and Huff are in front by 12 ounces, as Sam Houston State's Dillon Harrell and Colby Bryant sit in second place. Bethel University has another boat in the Top 5, as Hunter Louden and Seth Roberts are third with 15 pounds and 12 ounces. Many may remember Louden from the 2016 championship on Green River Lake in Campbellsville. Fishing by himself, Louden placed in the Top 5 on Green River and is seeking another title for Bethel.

The contest continues Friday with takeoff at 6 a.m. CT from Cherokee Landing State Park. Weigh-ins begin at 4 p.m. ET daily at Northeastern State University Beta Field in Tahlequah. Live weigh-ins can be streamed on Bassmaster.com and the archive link can be found above.
