Gregory sparks CU, while Hall continues to shine in 75-64 win over No. 18 Lindsey Wilson

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — A big first half from No. 7 Campbellsville did in the 18th-ranked Lindsey Wilson Blue Raiders and the Battle of Highway 55 went in favor of the Lady Tigers, 75-64.

Caitlin Hall continued her stellar passing and brought the crowd to her feet once again with 10 assists – which is the fifth game this year she's passed out 10 or more dimes.

Savannah Gregory was fantastic on both ends of the floor. The redshirt sophomore led CU with 21 points, grabbed six rebounds and grabbed three steals. Madison Faulkner, the leading scorer for the Lady Tigers, came off the bench to pitch in 18 points and grab six boards as well.

Madison Stewart also scored in double figures with 12 points – including her second 3-pointer with 18 seconds left to put the icing on the cake.

Campbellsville hit seven triples and finished hitting 47 percent (7-of-15). The Lady Tigers also forced 20 turnovers for the Blue Raiders and scored 25 points off those miscues.

The day started with Lindsey Wilson leading by four points, 8-4, but that didn't last long as Gregory buried her first 3 and just a few minutes later, Faulkner gave Campbellsville its first lead, 14-12, with 4:43 left in the first quarter. The lead never went back to Lindsey Wilson.

Lexy Lake came off the bench and banged a 3 with 46 seconds left in the opening frame to put the Lady Tigers ahead by their largest lead of seven, 23-16.

The second quarter was when Campbellsville upped its defense. After only forcing two turnovers in the first quarter, the Blue Raiders turned the ball over seven times in the second and went cold from the floor.

LWC hit only two field goals in the quarter (2-of-8) but did get to the free throw line and hit 6-of-7 from the stripe. The Blue Raiders went scoreless from the 9:47 mark to 5:16 and then didn't tally a point in the final 4:31.

Faith Lake and Caitlin Hall sparked the Lady Tigers late in the frame. With 2:42 left in the half, Lake hit her first 3 to put CU back ahead by double-figures and Hall hit another triple to put CU up by 14 points with 1:16 left.

CU carried a 40-28 lead into the half.

The second half started very similar to how it ended as Madison Stewart drilled her first 3 of the day. But the Blue Raiders worked the lead to nine with n 8-2 run. But it was Gregory once again sparking the Lady Tigers. She picked the pocket of Maleigha Oldham and went coast-to-coast for the layup. That basket sparked a 9-2 run the other way for Campbellsville.

In the final quarter, Lindsey Wilson had one final push, but it wasn't enough. Heidi Huffman hit one of her two 3-pointers with 6:05 left to work the lead to five. The Lady Tigers answered right back with an 11-4 run and the lead blossomed back to 12 points, 71-59.

Regan Turner, who played all 40 minutes, led the way for Lindsey Wilson with 28 points but that was all the Blue Raiders could muster offensively.

The Lady Tigers will now head south to Georgia next week. Campbellsville will play Life University on Thursday night at Reinhardt University in Waleska, Ga. Tip time is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET.
