Ratliff sets Bassmaster Open Schedule and it starts on Harris Chain of Lakes this week

LEESBURG, Fla. — Arguably the biggest feat in Campbellsville University athletics is coming to fruition for angler Nick Ratliff. The senior from Vine Grove, Ky. has set his Bassmaster Open schedule for the upcoming year and is all begins this weekend.

Ratliff is in Florida on the Harris Chain of Lakes for the Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Eastern Open – which is one of eight Open Championships through the Eastern or Central Regional he will compete in this year.

Competition days will be Thursday through Saturday, with daily takeoffs at 7 a.m. ET from Venetian Gardens and weigh-ins Thursday and Friday at Ski Beach Park at 3 p.m. Saturday's weigh-in will take place at the Bass Pro Shops in Orlando at 4 p.m.

Ratliff came out as the top college angler from last season after winning the Carhartt Bassmaster College Series Bracket in Junction City, Kansas. By winning that tournament, Ratliff punched his ticket to the Super Bowl of bass fishing – the 2019 GEICO Bassmaster Classic Presented by DICK'S Sports Goods on March 15-17 on the Tennessee River in Knoxville.

Sporting his new Campbellsville University wrapped 2019 Toyota Tundra and 2019 Nitro Z20 boat, Ratliff will compete in eight professional opens and The Classic.

Feb. 20-22 – Toledo Bend (Many, La.)
March 15-17 – Tennessee River (Knoxville, Tenn. – GEICO Bassmaster Classic)*
April 25-27—Smith Lake (Jasper, Ala.)
May 23-25 – Lake Chickamauga (Tennessee)
July 25-27 – James River (Richmond, Va.)
Aug. 1-3 – Mississippi River (La Crosse, Wisc.)
Sept. 5-7 – Onedia Lake (Syracuse, N.Y.)
Sept. 12-14 – Grand Lake (Grove, Okla.)

Ratliff is actually one of nine anglers from the state of Kentucky in the field and the other notable from the Bluegrass State is John Hunter, who fished collegiately at Georgetown College.
