Lady Tigers seek to continue dominance over rival Georgetown as two meet on Saturday

GEORGETOWN, Ky. — Since the 1974-75 season, Campbellsville University has dominated the series over rival Georgetown College and will travel to Georgetown, Ky. for the Mid-South Conference opener on Saturday afternoon. 
 
Tipoff between the two Tigers is scheduled for 2 p.m. ET with radio coverage on the CU Sports Network starting at 1:45 with Matt Payton.
 
Campbellsville is ranked No. 7 in the NAIA after playing four games against ranked opponents and boasting in a 3-1 record. The Lady Tigers have also faced two programs ranked in the NAIA DII poll. Georgetown enters with a perfect 15-0 - which is the best start in program history. But the Tigers have only played one NAIA DI opponent, a 68-59 win over Martin Methodist on Dec. 30. 
 

Series Facts:
  • CU and GC are meeting for the 101st time in history, with CU leading the series 75-25.
  • CU is 19-7 in Ginger Colvin's tenure overall, 5-5 while playing at home and 11-2 while playing at Davis-Reid Alumni Gym.
  • Campbellsville hasn't lost at Georgetown since the 2011 season, 65-52.
  • Colvin also rallies her troops when it matters most in postseason, as CU is a perfect 3-0 in MSC tournaments against GC.
  • The Lady Tigers won their last MSC Tournament in 2014, 75-68, over Georgetown.
  • In the series, CU is out-scoring Georgetown 76.7 - 65.8 points per game.
  • Ginger High Colvin and James Jackson, a former assistant for the men's program, are meeting for the second-straight season.
Lady Tigers in MSC Openers:
  • In the Ginger High Colvin era, the Lady Tigers are 10-1 in MSC openers.
  • The lone loss was in Coach Colvin's first season at the helm, 96-82, on Jan. 26, 2008.
  • Saturday marks the third time CU and GC are meeting for MSC openers with each team winning one game.
Scouting Georgetown:
  • Georgetown is entering MSC play with a program-best 15-0 record. 
  • Though the 15-0 record, Georgetown has only played one program from the NAIA DI ranks - a 68-59 win over Martin Methodist on Dec. 30. 
  • 11 games were played against NAIA DII teams, while three were played against non- NAIA programs. 
  • GC's catalyst is Megan Darnell. She leads the Tigers in points (11.1), steals (2.4) and blocks (0.8) per game. 
CU Goes Perfect in Alabama:
  • Lady Tiger basketball hit the road for an Alabama road swing after the Christmas holiday and went 2-0.
  • CU beat Mobile, 75-66, and Faulkner, 95-53.
  • Jordan Doram led the Lady Tigers with 23 points and surpassed 1,000 career points in her career against Mobile.
  • Madison Faulkner led the Lady Tigers with her first-career double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds.
Jordan Doram scores 1,000 points at Mobile:
  • Senior Jordan Doram scored 23 points vs. Mobile to surpass the 1,000-point mark in her career. 
  • She's averages 10.5 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. 
  • She becomes the first Lady Tiger since Madison Clements in 2017-18 to surpass 1,000 points. She tied Emily Fox for 29th on the all-time scoring list with 1,178 points. 
  • Doram becomes the eighth Lady Tiger to surpass the century in Coach Ginger High Colvin's career. 
Caitlin Hall leads NAIA in passing:
  • Junior Caitlin Hall leads the NAIA with 118 assists on the year and is second with 7.3 assists per game.
  • She has recorded 10+ assists in four games this season.
